The Los Angeles/San Francisco Daily Journal has named Shay Aaron Gilmore to its list of the Top 20 Cannabis Lawyers in California for 2022. The annual series recognizes elite lawyers in the state who have achieved significant victories for clients, given back to their communities and are considered leaders in the practice of cannabis law. Shay has previously been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer in the practice areas of Cannabis Law (2021-2022) and Business & Corporate Law (2020) by Super Lawyers® Magazine. Committed to the advancement of those disproportionately harmed by the failed War on Drugs, Shay serves on the Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Equity (DISE) Committee of the California Cannabis Industry Association. In 2018, Shay also helped form a partnership between The Bar Association of San Francisco and the San Francisco Office of Cannabis to provide pro bono legal counsel to individuals verified under San Francisco’s Cannabis Equity Program. Shay has served as a Commissioner on the State Bar of California’s Judicial Nominees Evaluation Commission, and has been awarded the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Service by the California State Bar.
