Shay will join an all-star panel of legal practitioners and cannabis regulators on May 18 for “Smokin’ Hot Topics in California Cannabis Law”, a legal education program presented by the Alameda County Bar Association Cannabis & Hemp Law Section. Shay will lead a conversation with Pamela Epstein (California Cannabis Industry Association Board President and ACBA Cannabis & Hemp Law Section Vice Chair), Greg Minor (Assistant to the City Administrator for the City of Oakland), and Albert Lopez (Alameda County Planning Department Director) covering the recently-released regulations from the California Department of Cannabis Control, the nearly-three-dozen cannabis-related bills pending in the California Legislature this session, and the latest judicial decisions from California courts impacting the cannabis industry and movement. Licensed California attorneys will receive CLE credit from the California State Bar, but everyone interested in California cannabis will enjoy this program to highlight the perspectives of local regulators and hear from lawyers serving the cannabis industry.
